Auxiliary Awards $52,500 in Scholarships

It was a grand time of celebration! The Leo Hill Conference Room was filled with awesome scholarship recipients along with their friends and families as this year's Scholarship Reception got underway on May 9th. This year's 24 scholarship recipients were honored through formal recognition and introduced to members of the Hospital Board of Directors, the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Auxiliary Board of Directors and Auxiliary members. All present joined in celebrating the achievements of each recipient.
Eleven the recipients are BCH employees who are committed to furthering their education and improving overall health care in the coming years. They are:
- Maya Adams, RN, Family Birth Center, will attend CU's Master's in Nursing program for Midwifery and Women's Health Practitioner;
- Maryte Anilionis, RN, Cancer Care Center, will continue in the Master 's in Nursing Education program. at Regis University. She was also awarded the Betty Lue Hill Scholarship award presented by the BCH Foundation. (See Foundation Awards Scholarships)
- Lacy Bernal, PCA, 3 West, will attend Denver School of Nursing's LPN to RN bridge program.
- Tiffany Brissette, PCA, 3 West, will continue in the nursing program at Front Range Community College.
- Michelle Cleminson, CT Rad Assistant, Imaging, will complete her senior year in the Associate of Occupational Studies – Radiology program at Pima Medical Institute. She was also awarded the Pat Shoemaker Scholarship award presented by the BCH Foundation. (See Foundation Awards Scholarships)
- Karen Dumler, UC, ICU, will attend the nursing program at Front Range Community College.
- Julie RenaldiFuller, RN, Cancer Care Center, will complete her final year in the Masters of Science – Health Services Administration program at Regis University.
- Roberto Jamanca, Financial Counselor, is attending Regis University for a Bachelor 's Degree.
- Stephanie Shivers, MA, Boulder Endocrinology, will attend Concorde Institute 's LPN to RN program.
- Clare Smith, PSR, Cardiopulmonary and Neurodiagnostics, will complete the LPN program at Front Range Community College.
- Kia Vang, PCA, 2 North, is in her final year in the nursing program at Front Range Community College.

Nine of the eleven BCH employee recipients
There were five high school senior recipients who are excited about beginning their education to enter the health care field. They are:
- Zoe Johnson will attend CU-Boulder 's Integrative Physiology program.
- Isabelle Kohn is enrolled in CU-Boulder 's nursing program.
- Garrett Lanham is enrolled in the pre-med program at Western State.
- Ariana McCaleb will pursue nursing at CU-Colorado Springs.
- Sagarika Sinha will attend CU-Boulder 's Biology or Integrative Physiology program.

The most unique and outstanding advantage of being a BCHA scholarship recipient is that she/he can re-apply each year of their on-going education for the scholarship. This year, there were eight former recipients awarded additional scholarships. They are:
- UNC 's nursing program attendees: Hanna Clark and Emma Pinkerton.
- Regis University 's nursing program attendees: Jorden Martin, Christian Montes-Carrazoo and Katy Stickle, Julia Stadele.
- CSU 's Food Sciences and Nutrition program: Amy Hittle.
- CSU 's Health and Exercise Science program: Rachel Trujillo.
