JAN PERKINS ~ NEW TRUSTEE OF COLORADO HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION |
PRESIDENT MESSAGE |
|
Think of Boulder Community Hospital and you’ll inevitably conjure images of our first-class health c are and amazing dedication to patient care. The hospital’s attention to detail and its service to patients has a long legacy and has held a prominent role in shaping the hospital’s reputation. Some of you may not know me, my name is Gail Fox and I am this year’s Auxiliary President. It’s late in the year to introduce myself to you now, as my reign ends at the end of this month. However, it is not too late to introduce you to the great people of BCH and the even greater work that they do for the Hospital. I have been involved on and off with the hospital as a volunteer for about 30 years. But it wasn’t until I was invited (coerced?) into becoming more involved as a board member, that I truly began to understand and enjoy the professionalism of the BCH staff. I am reminded of a quote I heard years ago; “One hundred percent involvement returns one hundred percent satisfaction”. I find this to be the norm at our Not-For-Profit, community hospital. The Auxiliary does fundraising for scholarships directed to students entering any medical related field, mini-grants to departments of the hospital for items directly related to patient care that are not in the hospital’s yearly budget, and very importantly, state of the art equipment that keeps BCH on the cutting edge of the latest technology. Our physicians and nurses are some of the most dedicated in the area. It is a privilege to be associated with this institution. Ultimately, we who are emotionally invested in the hospital want the people of our community to enjoy a small sample of what a dedicated, caring, staff can bring to an understandably stressful hospital stay. Wishing you good health, Gail Fox Auxiliary President
