The Boulder Community Hospital 2008 Safety Summit was held for all employees in September and October. What is it? The safety summit is an educational lab to provide employees with the tools necessary to create a safe environment for our patients and staff. The vision of the Safety Summit is to empower all BCH employees to provide optimal patient safety and quality in a collaborative, cohesive manner across the continuum of care. The mission is to create a team that functions with integrity, accountability, respect and compassion for one another, our patients and their families. |

Fourteen BCH volunteers assisted with the 4th Annual Tennis Marathon on August 22 at the Milleniun Harvest House. Thank you to BCH marketing for providing packets of sun screen and pens, to Pat Dimond for Fashion Show handouts, and to all board members, friends and family who volunteered. The event benefited breast cancer patients, HealthLinks, and $7600 went directly to the BCH Tebo Family Medical Pavilion. These funds go to the Auxiliary’s Breast Cancer Treatment Fund.

The Boulder Community Hospital Auxiliary strongly supports the hospital’s programs to enhance patient safety and quality. The U.S. Attorney investigating the recent publicized event at Boulder Community Hospital, Troy Eid, said it best with regard to our hospital’s integrity. “We hear a lot about hospitals that don’t take swift action, but Boulder Community is the model of what a hospital is supposed to do. . . . .” |

For the heart ~ a warm smile brings joy to yourself and others. For the mind ~ give your mind a vacation from inner thoughts by focusing on your breath for a few minutes each day. For the body ~ stretch both arms over your head, take a deep breath and do a quick body scan from head to toe to release tension. Mapleton Counseling Center |
