WHAT IS THE HOSPITAL AUXILIARY?
The Boulder Community Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization, governed by a Board of Directors, overseen by the Hospital Foundation, in collaboration with Volunteer Services. Our primary function is to raise money for the hospital. To that end, we operate the three hospital gift shops; plan and host two major fundraisers — the Evening Black Tie and the Holiday Fashion Show Luncheon; schedule vendor sales at the hospital; photograph and sell newborn baby pictures; and undertake special projects. The Auxiliary has given over $2 million to the hospital through special grants and mini-grants, we have purchased much of the art throughout the hospital, and we award over $50,000 in scholarships each year. |

OUR LEADER ~ GAIL FOX

During the 14th century reign of Robert II of Scotland, it After abdicating her throne, Gail was raised in Saginaw, Gail began her illustrious career at BCH in the 1970s as a coffee cart volunteer. After a request from the “powers that be” she decided to take some “time off”. A second chance came her way in 2003 when she filled a new board position – CMC Liaison. Since that time, Gail has volunteered in the Newborn Photo Program, as Secretary, Vice President of Membership, 1st Vice President and now President of the Auxiliary. Gail’s passions and major focus of her presidency are the Auxiliary Scholarship Program, mini-grants and ways to increase our funding. After attending the California Volunteer Leadership Conference in February, Gail brought back the concept of utilizing a consent agenda to make board meetings more efficient allowing more time for board education. Gail’s most meaningful experience on the Auxiliary Board has been getting to know fellow board members and recognizing the amazing pool of talent that these volunteers offer to our community. FYI – Mary, Queen of Scots was executed on February 8, 1587. Thankfully, however, our “Queenie”, Gail lives on… |
